The Miz won the Intercontinental championship from Roman Reigns at WWE Monday Night Raw's 25th anniversary.
Reigns started off aggressive, but thanks to outside interference from the Miztourage (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas), Miz took advantage before the commercial break.
Back from commercial, Reigns managed to work his way back into the advantage and loaded up for the Superman Punch. Miz rolled out of the ring, and Reigns hit the driveby before tossing Miz into the ring.
Reigns tried to hit Miz in the corner, but he moved out of the way and Reigns hit his shoulder on the outside post behind the turnbuckle. Miz got the two-count on a rollup with his feet on the ropes. He then hit Reigns with Miz-kicks as the crowd chanted "YES".
Reigns reversed the final kick into a powerbomb for the two-count. Reigns rolled out of the ring and hit the driveby on Axel and Dallas, then tossed the duo around ringside. Miz attacked Reigns from behind and set up for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Reigns dipped out of the way then hit the Superman Punch for the two.
Dallas helped Miz out by holding Reigns' foot, and the Miztourage was tossed from ringside.
Axel ran back to the ring to distract Reigns, and Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the two-count.
Miz set up for the Skull Crushing Finale again, but Reigns powered out. Reigns missed on the spear, hit his head on the middle rope, which was exposed and Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the win!
The win gives Miz his eighth Intercontinental championship reign.
Miz left WWE back in late November to film a movie, and lost the championship to Reigns ahead of his departure.
