Besides being an athlete, Ashley is also a successful model and runs her own swimwear line, making her perfect for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Turns out, Ashley thought just as much also, so she submitted an audition video for the 2021 SI swimsuit edition, which she shared via social media.

"I started playing polo when I was 11 years old," says to begin the Instagram video. "I was one of the only girls out on the field, which was intimidating but also incredibly exhilarating at the same time. Throughout the years, I have made it my goal to bring awareness to the sport of polo. And show women that they can exceed in any career or sport they choose. Even if it's male dominated."

"I've always admired how the Sports Illustrated Swim Edition highlights athletes. Showcasing how we can be both strong and sexy, at the same time. It would be an honor to join the legendary women who have graced the pages. And once again showcase, how with determination and hard work, a woman can truly do whatever she sets her mind to."

Ashley Busch, whose husband drives the No. 1 Chevy for Chip Ganassi Racing, was also featured on the CMT reality show Racing Wives alongside Samantha Busch, the wife of NASCAR racer Kyle Busch. The Las Vegas-born Busch brothers have racked up some accomplishments of their own over the years, with three NASCAR Cup Series championships and 252 wins (across the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series) between the two of them.

But, back to what everyone really cares about: the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Fans of the issue (if you still have an SI subscription, it's likely for that reason alone) probably know that the most recent edition, which was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, came out in mid-July. However, the sporting magazine's 2021 issue should hit shelves in May of that year, so long as everything goes according to plan. Don't you ruin this for us, coronavirus!
