The NTT IndyCar Series will head to Barcelona in 2027 so that the drivers and teams can compete at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.
This will be a marquee event that serves as a highlight of the season's second phase, and it marks the first race outside of North America since Brazil in 2013.
"This is a monumental day for our sport," Penske Entertainment Corp. President and CEO Mark Miles said in a statement. "We are pleased to be able to take our ultra-competitive brand of wheel-to-wheel racing to Europe and thrilled that we can showcase IndyCar in Alex Palou's hometown.
"We have seen Alex's remarkable skill and talent for several years and know his fans in Spain have been clamoring to watch him race in person. We cannot wait to see the NTT IndyCar Series compete at one of the world's most recognizable motorsports venues set against the backdrop of a very historic and breathtaking international destination like Barcelona."
The season schedule will begin as expected with the Streets of St. Petersburg on March 7. It will then continue with stops at Phoenix Raceway, Arlington (Texas), and Barber Motorsports Park among other venues.
The race weekend at Phoenix will continue a trend from 2026. It will mark another doubleheader with the NASCAR Cup Series.
All 17 of the IndyCar races in 2027 will air on Fox as part of the existing partnership between Fox Sports, IndyCar, and Penske Entertainment.
