Kevin Harvick Still Makes Bank: The Former Champ Was NASCAR's Third Richest Driver in 2022

Even at 47 years old, Kevin Harvick has continued to prove his worth in NASCAR's highest level. In 2022, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver made a salary of $10.9 million, making him the third highest-paid driver behind Denny Hamlin ($13.1 million) and Kyle Busch ($16.9 million). Sadly, 2023 will be the last year that Harvick will make a salary as a full-time NASCAR driver, as the 2014 Cup Series champ announced that he would be calling it quits for good after this season.

Harvick has been raking in the big bucks for over two decades now, and the Bakersfield, California native has no doubt earned a future spot in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. When you look at what he's accomplished over the years, it's clear why Harvick is in rare company as one of the richest NASCAR drivers of all time.

They Call Him "The Closer" for a Reason

Kevin Harvick earned two nicknames during his NASCAR career for good reason. The first was "Happy Harvick," which was given to him ironically for his tendency to let his temper get the better of him on the racetrack. The second was "The Closer," a reference to his ability to finish races strong down the stretch and earn himself a spot on Victory Lane.

The latter moniker makes sense, especially considering Harvick's glowing accomplishments that put him in a rare space in NASCAR history. His 121 combined national series wins rank him third all-time in NASCAR history, behind Richard Petty and Kyle Busch. His 60 Cup Series wins are tied for ninth in series history, while Harvick is also the third of only six drivers to have won a title in both the Cup Series and the Xfinity Series. On top of that, he's also the fifth of 36 drivers to win a race in each of NASCAR's three national series.

All told, Harvick has 60 wins and 428 top-10 finishes in the Cup Series, 47 wins and 261 top-10s in the Xfinity Series, and 14 wins and 62 top-10s in the Camping World Truck Series. Some of Harvick's other major accolades include winning the 2001 NASCAR Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year award, the 2007 Daytona 500, the 2001 and 2006 Busch Series championships, the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship, and the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series regular season championship. He's also a three-time Brickyard 400 winner (2003, 2019, and 2020), a two-time Coca-Cola 600 winner (2011 and 2013), and a two-time Southern 500 winner (2014 and 2020). Oh, and he's also the all-time wins leader at Phoenix International Raceway with nine.

As one of the best drivers in NASCAR's modern era, Harvick is also one of the wealthiest of all time. Only Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and Tony Stewart have made more cumulatively in their careers. Just how much is Kevin Harvick worth? Let's take a look.

Kevin Harvick has an estimated net worth of $70 million, with a large chunk of that coming from his salary and endorsements as a professional racer. He also owns and operates Kevin Harvick Incorporated alongside his wife DeLana (who he married in 2001, his rookie year in the Cup Series, in Las Vegas, Nevada), which used to be a functioning racing team from 2001 to 2011, but today is a management agency for athletes.

When he's not paying it forward through the Kevin Harvick Foundation, Harvick has been known to spend his hard-earned dough on some of the finer things. In 2016, he bought a $2.9 million home in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The 3,542-square-foot home is on a fancy golf resort that boasts such famous residents as Bill Murray, George Clooney, and Oprah Winfrey. The Harvicks sold the place in 2018 for $3.25 million. Today, Kevin, DeLana, and their two kids, Keelan and Piper, live in a multi-million-dollar home in Charlotte, North Carolina. It features a replica of the par-3 12th hole at Augusta National. Clearly, Harvick is a big-time golfer, and he'll have plenty of time to hone his game in retirement.

Harvick is also, not surprisingly, a big-time car collector, and one of his favorite rides is his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Considering his longtime run as a Chevy guy for Richard Childress Racing and then for SHR, Harvick's obsession with the manufacturer is obviously no coincidence.
