Kyle Busch Took a Nap at the 2018 NASCAR Playoffs Media Day, and the Internet Absolutely Roasted Him

There's no denying that Kyle Busch was an absolute workhorse during the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. On top of having a young son to take care of (although I'm sure Kyle's wife Samantha probably did the majority of the work on that front), Rowdy also had himself quite the dominant regular season, racking up six wins heading into that year's Cup playoffs. He was ultimately named the regular season champion, and for good reason.

The two-time Cup Series champ (he'd get that second title in 2019) was all gas and no brakes as he geared up for the postseason. That second week of September alone, Busch raced at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis, flew back home to Charlotte, and then made the trek to Las Vegas for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Media Day. Needless to say, he probably hadn't been getting all that much sleep leading up to his eventual arrival at his hometown.

That's why, right in the middle of Kevin Harvick's media day read at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa, Busch took advantage of his brief moment of down time by having himself a little nap. Unfortunately for him (but fortunately for everyone else), someone snapped a few photos of Busch catching some Z's and uploaded them to Twitter.

It may have seemed like a pretty wild time and place to snag some shut eye, but those closest to Busch know that he can sleep just about anywhere. Busch's Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin shared an additional pic of Rowdy sleeping under a curtain during media day, while Samantha Busch confirmed her husband's fondness for naps.

To add more hilarious fuel to the fire, Busch's viral nap session eventually got the attention of NASCAR parody account nascarcasm, who posted more photo proof that #KyleBuschCanNapAnywhere. Photoshopped pictures aside, I wouldn't completely put it past Rowdy to nap under the hood of a stock car if presented with the opportunity.
