The three-time champion won the pole on Saturday with a lap of 32.817 seconds. He was the only driver to post a lap faster than 33 seconds.

This marked his 35th career pole win and his second this season. He last started from the pole at Phoenix Raceway this spring.

Two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Larson qualified second with a lap of 33.093 seconds. Interestingly, Larson also started second during that spring Phoenix race.

The rest of the top 10 featured all Chase drivers. This included Ryan Blaney (33.113), Christopher Bell (33.145), Chase Briscoe (33.199), Carson Hocevar (33.236), Bubba Wallace (33.246), Chase Elliott (33.259), Ty Gibbs (33.261), and Denny Hamlin (33.312).

The other Chase drivers included Austin Cindric in 13th (33.441), Ryan Preece in 14th (33.487), Daniel Suarez in 15th (33.492), Tyler Reddick in 18th (33.557), Chris Buescher in 21st (33.607), and William Byron in 24th (33.700).

Cindric won the 2024 Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway while Hamlin won last season's race.

The starting position will be significant for Logano, who aims to erase his 72-point deficit in the final nine weeks of the Chase. He has achieved success in all four starts at World Wide Technology Raceway, and he aims to continue that streak on Sunday.

Logano won the inaugural Cup Series race at the Illinois track. He has since finished third, fifth, and fifth while leading a total of 25 laps. Now, he will pursue his second career Cup Series win at WWT Raceway after starting from the pole for the first time.

The Cup Series race will take place on Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. ET. USA Network will begin coverage with the pre-race show at 2:30 p.m. ET. The Cup Series booth will feature Leigh Diffey, Steve Letarte, and Jeff Burton calling all of the action as the Cup Series drivers battle for points and the win.
