NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. — The RFK Racing prank war has continued with another volley from Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece. This time, the teammates took it to another level.

As a reminder, this prank war dates back to last season when the two drivers messed with each other throughout the back half of the season. Buescher stole the doors from Preece's rental Ford Bronco at Kansas Speedway.
Preece responded by towing Buescher's rental at Phoenix Raceway, covering it in saran wrap and Christmas lights, and then zip-tying parts of the driveshaft.
The prank war died down over the offseason and the early portions of the 2026 Cup Series season. However, Preece revived it last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. He purchased space on two billboards in Georgia and put Buescher on them.
One billboard featured Buescher in a bowl cut wig, which tied into an upcoming sponsor video. The other showed Buescher in his firesuit and included a message about visiting his hometown, Prosper, Texas.

"Scott Graves (crew chief) was driving down this morning and confirmed it in our group chat that there are billboards, so I guess I've made it at this point," Buescher said at Atlanta Motor Speedway. "My face is on a billboard. Either we've done something really well or if you've been hurt in a motorcycle accident, I've got you.
"I don't know (laughing). It's something. Ryan is back to shenanigans, which is fine because I'm currently in the process as well and I look forward to unveiling that before too terribly long. We're gonna keep having fun with it."
Buescher did not wait long before unveiling his latest volley in the prank war. He spent the week leading up to North Wilkesboro Speedway teasing something involving a caterpillar and a butterfly. This created confusion for Preece, who remained away from home while racing up in Connecticut.
Buescher then unveiled the completed project on Sunday as Preece took part in an autograph session. He pulled up in front of the merchandise hauler in a massive Ford dually pickup, which featured a butterfly wrap.

"That's not my truck though," Preece said to the camera. "It's not my truck! Noooooo....That's my truck?"
Buescher confirmed that he had indeed obtained access to Preece's brand new truck and added some butterfly flair to the sides.
"It's probably not the color that I would have ordered," Buescher said while standing on the side railing, "but whatever you want to do, dude."
While surprised by the latest move in the prank war, Preece indicated that he would not make any changes. He told Buescher and the gathered RFK Racing fans that he would "rock it" and that everyone would know when he was coming.
