The 2024 NASCAR Schedule has really been the subject of conversation among both NASCAR media members and its fans. Clarity on how next season will look seems to be coming soon, however as several announcements have started making the rounds. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has had plenty of discussions about changes in the schedule throughout the season on the "Dale Jr. Download."
This week he appeared on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio to talk about where he stands on the outlook of the 2024 schedule, including some things he would like to see.
Earnhardt Jr. was never against what NASCAR has tried in the past couple of seasons, but with the next-gen car he would like to see NASCAR give some tracks that have lost races in the past few years get another shot.

"I don't really have a glaring desire to see a specific thing, I do like the idea of going to these racetracks, or a lot of these racetracks just once," Earnhardt Jr. said. "To be able to try the next-gen car at a place like Kentucky. I like the rumors of a possible race at Iowa. I love the idea of going to Canada in any way, whether it's Montreal or anything right, to get in front of our fans up there across the border. There are tracks that I don't want to lose a second date, so I'm pretty particular, but it's tough to fit it all in there, you can't have everything you want. But if dirt's going away at the first Bristol, that's great."
So, it seems the schedule for 2024 is moving quickly. Earnhardt might not be the schedule maker, but he certainly seems to be hearing plenty of things that seem to be coming true. Rumor has it that the Charlotte Roval is going away according to Earnhardt.
According to him, he isn't opposed to that, given the Roval has served its purpose in his mind.
"I think the racing at Charlotte has been good as it's been in as long as I can remember, so going back and running the oval twice a year at Charlotte, I mean it's my home track I'm biased, I get it, but I would love to have two oval races their like we used to have," Earnhardt said. "Marcus (Smith) is going to be mad at me for saying that, but the roval was fun and good for the sport, but it was like a bridge to something else, to me, it didn't feel like anything more than that to me."
Earnhardt isn't wrong about how the Roval has served its purpose, and if 2023 is the final year of the event, hopefully, returning Charlotte's second race to the oval doesn't disappoint the sport.
The whole 2024 schedule isn't fully announced but it appears that NASCAR will be getting everything put in place very shortly and the new schedule will be confirmed.
