According to a May 11 announcement, the former Daytona 500 champion has signed a multi-year extension that will keep him behind the wheel of the No. 47 Chevrolet Camaro. Hyak Motorsports did not provide the number of years, only saying that this covers the "foreseeable future."
This marks his second multi-year extension with the team in recent seasons. He previously signed a deal in May 2024.

Stenhouse has been the driver of the No. 47 Chevrolet since the 2020 season when he joined JTG Daugherty Racing. He has accounted for 31 top-10 finishes, 12 top-fives, and two wins. He won the 2024 fall race at Talladega Superspeedway and the 2023 Daytona 500.
"Ricky has been a huge part of what we're building at Hyak Motorsports, and we're proud to continue this partnership for years to come," said Gordon Smith, owner of Hyak Motorsports.
"He brings experience, leadership, and a competitive mindset every weekend, and we believe there's still a lot ahead for this team with Ricky in the No. 47."
The contract extension shuts down some rumors that persisted during the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. Insiders listed him as a name to watch at Spire Motorsports as the team planned to replace Justin Haley in the No. 7.
Spire Motorsports ultimately signed Daniel Suarez, but some questions remained about the future of the No. 47 Chevrolet.
Stenhouse heard the rumors, and he addressed them directly during an appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. He said at the time that he had a deal in place to keep driving the No. 47. He did not plan to depart Hyak Motorsports.
"For me, we redid my contract last year with Hyak Motorsports," Stenhouse Jr.said in September 2025. "So, I'm here through '26 unless they tell me otherwise or unless we redo another one and stay there for longer.
"For me, Mike (Kelley, crew chief), and the boys — like I said — are working hard trying to figure out how we can get some consistency and a little bit more speed heading into the offseason so we can hit the ground running for next year. I've got a great group of guys who work hard, and we all want the same thing."
