Hamlin, the all-time NASCAR leader in wins at Pocono with seven, scored the pole with a lap of 51.948 seconds. He was the only driver to break 52 seconds on Saturday afternoon. This marks his third pole win of the season and his sixth at Pocono Raceway.

Of course, Hamlin did not start first at Nashville or Michigan after winning the pole. He jumped the start at Nashville and served a pass-through penalty at the start. He then went to the rear for Michigan after the team repaired the No. 11. He still won both races.

Kyle Larson qualified second with a lap of 52.003 seconds. He will line up on the front row, but he will not have a pit stall selection after the No. 5 failed inspection twice.

The rest of the top 10 included Daniel Suarez (52.059), Ty Gibbs (52.092), Chase Briscoe (52.132), Chris Buescher (52.176), Erik Jones (52.189), John Hunter Nemechek (52.277), William Byron (52.331), and Ryan Blaney (52.366).

Christopher Bell, who will race with a fractured left wrist, qualified 22nd with a lap of 52.724 seconds. He will line up next to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (52.656) on the 11th row.

Carson Hocevar had an opportunity to win the pole. He tracked well into the green, but he made a mistake in Turn 2 while approaching the alternate start-finish line.

He lost control of the No. 77 Chevrolet and slapped the outside wall. Hocevar finished the lap at 52.838 seconds, which placed him 26th in the lineup.

Bubba Wallace had significant issues during his qualifying lap. He spun in Turn 2 after getting loose over the bumps. He avoided the outside wall, but he slammed into the inside SAFER barrier. This heavily damaged the front of the No. 23 Toyota.

Brad Keselowski, who will join the Prime Video pre- and post-race show, had the slowest qualifying lap by far. He finished in 71.136 seconds. It turns out that he had an engine problem. Keselowski will have to start at the rear of the Cup Series field on Sunday afternoon.

The Cup Series race at Pocono will take place at 1 p.m. ET after NASCAR moved it up by two hours due to inclement weather in the forecast. Prime Video will provide coverage, starting with the pre-race show at 12 p.m. ET.
