Legacy Motor Club has taken care of another piece of business amidst the 2026 Cup Series season. The team has signed Erik Jones to another extension.

According to a press release, Jones will continue driving the No. 43 Toyota Camry XSE for Legacy Motor Club after signing a multi-year deal. He will enter his 11th season at the top level of NASCAR and his seventh with Legacy Motor Club.
The Michigan native has remained a steady presence for the team while it has expanded to two cars and changed from Chevrolet to Toyota. He has posted one win (the Southern 500), 10 top-five finishes, and 37 top-10s while driving the No. 43.
He will remain in this role while the team expands to three full-time entries and welcomes both Josh Berry and Riley Herbst into the fold.

"I'm excited to continue to be a part of what Legacy Motor Club is building," Jones said in a press release. "I took over the No. 43 in 2021, and it's become a big part of my career.
"Through every change, we continue to get better and I'm happy to be a part of that. Especially this season, I feel like we've hit on something and been consistent. I'm thankful to get the chance to continue building on that in the years to come."
Legacy Motor Club did not provide details about the crew chief who will guide Jones during the 2027 season and beyond. Justin Alexander is the current crew chief for the No. 43 team. Last season, the team had Ben Beshore calling the shots.
Prior to joining Legacy Motor Club — then Richard Petty Motorsports — in 2021, Jones spent three seasons with Joe Gibbs Racing (2018-20) and one season with Furniture Row Racing (2017). He won two races while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.
The veteran driver has also made 79 starts in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series while winning nine races. He has made 42 starts in the Truck Series while posting seven wins. He won the championship in 2015.
"Erik Jones is the cornerstone of what we are building at Legacy — and he has earned that," said Jimmie Johnson, co-owner of Legacy MC.
"He has been a part of this organization through every stage of its evolution, and his consistency, professionalism, and knowledge of what it takes to compete at this level are exactly what we need as we bring in new drivers and build toward 2027. Keeping Erik in the No. 43 for the long term was a priority for us, and we are glad to have it done."
