Founded by Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs, JGR began competing in the Cup Series way back in 1992 with Dale Jarrett as the driver and Interstate Batteries as the sponsor. The team celebrated its first win, the Daytona 500, in 1993 and has since gone on to celebrate 227 wins and five championships at NASCAR's top level.
The organization expanded to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series in 1997. It has celebrated 221 wins in the secondary series, as well as four championships with Kyle Busch, Daniel Suarez, Daniel Hemric, and Ty Gibbs.
The Joe Gibbs Racing success has also extended to the ARCA Menards Series, where the team has celebrated dozens of wins with drivers such as Gibbs, William Sawalich, Tanner Gray, Connor Mosack, Brent Crews, Max Reaves, and Riley Herbst. The program won 10 races and the 2021 championship with Gibbs.
Sawalich won consecutive ARCA Menards Series East championships while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.
"It's hard to believe we're celebrating our 35th season," said Dave Alpern, President of Joe Gibbs Racing. "What started as Coach's dream on a piece of paper has grown into something truly special.
"From day one, he's said you win with people—and that's been true every step of the way. We're excited to celebrate this milestone with our JGR family, past and present drivers, and all the partners and fans who make all of it possible."
The Joe Gibbs Racing lineup will celebrate this anniversary season while fielding a race-winning lineup across multiple series. Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, Christopher Bell, and Gibbs will lead the Cup Series lineup. Brandon Jones, Sawalich, Taylor Gray, and Crews will lead the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series lineup.
