Joey Logano is a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, so anywhere he goes he is known — even at junior racing events where his oldest son, Hudson, has started racing.

The elder Logano broke into NASCAR at a young age and, at 19, became the youngest driver to ever win a Cup series race.
Logano has made it his mission to always be a family man, and the importance of racing is big in his family. While he completely understands that his son might have the racing itch just like him, he doesn't want to force his kid into doing it.
Nor does he want his son to go through the pressure of being the son of a NASCAR champion if he does follow in his father's footsteps in racing. This became an issue for Joey when Hudson first started running some Quarter-Midget races, and his son was introduced as "Joey Logano's son."
Logano spoke about his problems with how his son has been introduced at Quarter-Midget races when he spoke to Mike Hembree from Autoweek.
"If the kid wants to race and share the love of cars, that's great," Logano said. "But I don't want him to think he has to reach a certain level because his dad did. I don't want him to have that pressure. At a couple of races he's run, they've introduced him as 'Joey Logano's son, Hudson.' I hate that. He's coming in like every other kid. When we go to race, we throw stuff in the back of the pickup and he takes his dirty helmet. I want him to be as normal as possible."
Not every child of a famous racecar driver is going to achieve the successes that their fathers did in the sport. Just ask Kyle Petty or even Dale Earnhardt Jr. While they had great driving careers and won races, they never reached the amazing heights set by their fathers. All Logano wants is for his children to have a normal life and be recognized for their own merits, and is that so wrong?
