Kelley Earnhardt Miller dropped the news during an appearance on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. She spoke about the bond between Allgaier and new crew chief Andrew Overstreet, and then she confirmed that he will be back in 2027 and beyond.

"He's been on fire, and I'm so glad that we talked him into coming back for a couple more years and not retiring yet and continuing to see what they can rack up," Earnhardt Miller said during her appearance.

Earnhardt Miller did not confirm that Allgaier has put pen to paper on a new contract, but she said that "you can count" on him being with JR Motorsports for the future.

This marks a significant change from as recent as May. Allgaier said during the JR Motorsports fan fest the week of the Coca-Cola 600 that he had originally planned on calling it a career after the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Allgaier has since faced questions about his future as he has continued to win races. He discussed the topic after winning at Nashville Superspeedway and Pocono Raceway in late May and early June. He then faced more contract questions at Atlanta Motor Speedway after scoring his sixth win of the season.

"Well, we're working on that," Allgaier said when asked about his contract and future. "I can't give you any updates yet because there's still some things we gotta get through. But I have opened my eyes up to maybe sticking around a little longer.

"And to be honest with you, I think a lot of it just comes down to the fact I don't want to keep...a lot of fans have told me they don't want me to walk away, and that's kind of a hard thing to...I've been so lucky to have great fans in the sport. My wife is wanting me to stay. My kids want me to stay. So we'll see what happens."

Allgaier, 40, has been incredibly productive for JR Motorsports since joining the team in 2016. He has captured 32 of his 34 career wins, including six this season. He has moved to sixth on the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series all-time wins list. He also captured the championship in 2024.

Now that he has apparently agreed to a new contract with JR Motorsports, he can continue pursuing wins and championships. He can try to move further up the list of winners and bolster his resume.
