According to an announcement on Wednesday, Kaulig Racing Technical Director Mike Cook will take over the No. 10 team to guide Ty Dillon at Martinsville Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. He will replace Andrew Dickeson.
Cook, who joined Kaulig Racing before the 2025 season, has a long history in NASCAR. He joined Dale Earnhardt Inc. as an intern in 2006 before testing vehicles for the United States Army.
Cook then joined Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, the same season that the team won the championship with Kevin Harvick. He worked as a race engineer for multiple drivers including Kurt Busch, Aric Almirola, and Chase Briscoe. He celebrated multiple wins with this group.
Dillon and Dickeson both joined the No. 10 Cup Series team for the start of the 2025 season. They began working together on the No. 10 team while trying to deliver consistent results on the track.
The team posted an average finish of 24.6 during the 2025 season, headlined by an eighth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the summer. This particular race kickstarted an unprecedented run through the $1 million In-Season Challenge in which Dillon reached the final round but lost to Ty Gibbs.
This season has seen all of Kaulig Racing forging its own path without any support from Chevrolet. Dillon has dropped his DNFs to only two, but he has also seen his average finish drop to 26.0. His best finish is 12th at Nashville Superspeedway.
The next two races are tracks where Dillon has extensive experience. He has made 15 Cup Series starts at Martinsville Speedway while posting a best finish of 13th in 2019. He failed to finish this season's spring race at the short track due to an issue with his brakes.
The North Carolina native has made nine Cup Series starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway. His best finish at the intermediate track is 22nd in the 2018 season finale.
