Kyle Larson will hit an important NASCAR milestone this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway as he suits up for a pivotal playoff race.

Larson will make his 400th Cup Series start while becoming the 71st driver in NASCAR history to hit this milestone. He will then tie Lake Speed (402 starts) by also starting the races at Martinsville Speedway and Phoenix Raceway.

The California native has already achieved a significant amount since making his Cup Series debut back in 2013. He has spent 11 seasons competing full-time at the top level of NASCAR — he missed the majority of the 2020 season due to a suspension — and he has steadily climbed the all-time wins list.

Larson has scored 32 Cup wins — six with Chip Ganassi Racing and 26 with Hendrick Motorsports. This run includes a record-setting season in 2021 in which he won 10 races and he led 2,581 laps, the most in a 36-race season.

Since moving to Hendrick Motorsports in 2021, Larson has won at least three races each season. He has made the playoffs every year while reaching the Championship 4 twice.

The veteran driver has led at least 1,100 laps in a season seven times, and he has led the series in laps led three times. This includes 2021, 2024 (1,700), and 2025 (1,100).

Larson is one of 22 Cup drivers to lead at least 10,000 laps in a career, and he has an opportunity to crack the top 20 by leading three more laps this season. He would pass Ned Jarrett for 20th all-time, which would mark another milestone in his career.

Now only 33 years old, Larson will have more opportunities to hit important milestones in his career. His next win will break a tie with Dale Jarrett and move him into a tie with Fireball Roberts for the 28th-most in NASCAR history.

Three more wins would move him past both Martin Truex Jr. (34) and Kurt Busch (34). After that, he could begin chasing down Brad Keselowski (36), Joey Logano (37), Bobby Isaac (37), Matt Kenseth (39), Tim Flock (39), and many other drivers.

Will Larson get these wins and continue leading laps in the No. 5 Chevrolet? It's highly likely as long as he remains with Hendrick Motorsports and crew chief Cliff Daniels.
