Speaking with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Thursday, Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice said that he hasn't had any conversations with the 2012 Cup Series champion about them joining forces in 2027 due to their shared connections to Dodge.

Kaulig Racing is the current Ram factory team in the Craftsman Truck Series, and it is expected to be the Dodge team in the Cup Series when the brand returns to the top level of NASCAR.

Keselowski won his championship in a Dodge, and he remains forever tied to the brand, so fans saw a natural fit with Kaulig Racing.

"No, I have not had any conversation with Brad Keselowski about driving a Dodge, even if Dodge comes back," Rice said. "Right, like we... obviously we're super late. You're not hearing me talk about it much no more.

"So that should tell you what's happening. So like, at the end of the day, no, we have not had any conversations with Brad."

Rice continued and said that he speaks to every driver that signs with Kaulig Racing. He has not spoken to Keselowski at all, nor does he believe that team owner Matt Kaulig has considered a partnership with the veteran driver.

Additionally, Rice said that Kaulig Racing already has a plan for what the team will do in 2027 and that it's already done. He won't say what these plans are or if they will involve Ty Dillon, one of the team's current full-time Cup Series drivers.

"Ty's here in '26, and obviously we've been in conversations quite a bit, still in conversations, and we love Ty," he said. "We wish that we could run better and have (run) better.

"But we absolutely love Ty, and I think in the near future, we should have and be able to talk about things that we're doing. But you know, Ty's with us in '26, and we absolutely love Ty. I think Ty is awesome."

How did these rumors begin? Obviously, the Dodge connection played a role. Rice also pointed to a recent situation at the race track.

The Kaulig CEO said that Keselowski had requested a meeting regarding a non-racing matter. The two men spent about 45 minutes together in Keselowski's motorhome discussing this particular topic. Rice said that he then left the motorhome and waved at some reporters.

"It didn't even cross my mind," he told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. "Then the news comes out. (Keselowski) didn't say a word to me. Like the news comes out, I'm like, 'Oh my God, here we go.'"
