Stewart-Haas To Run "Talladega Nights" Paint Schemes

NASCAR and Talladega Superspeedway are no strangers to Hollywood, as they were the primary feature of the 2006 film "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby".

Stewart-Haas Racing is ready to cash in on that association and have a little fun as the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Talladega this weekend. The team has unveiled that two of its cars will feature the sponsors and paint schemes made famous in the film.

That's right; Ryan Preece will look to unleash his inner Ricky Bobby, as he pilots the Wonder Bread No. 41. As for his teammate Chase Briscoe, his No. 14 will feature Old Spice and the colors of Cal Norton Jr.

The team shared a funny video making the announcement on X (formerly Twitter).

With neither driver in the playoffs, it doesn't hurt to have a little fun, especially when Talladega can be such an unpredictable race.

This isn't the first time a Wonder Bread-sponsored car has actually seen the track. Kurt Busch featured a Wonder Bread livery in 2013. As for Old Spice, it was last in the sport with Corey Lajoie in 2019.

Stewart-Haas Racing's Chief Revenue Officer, Brian McKinley, was proud to make this deal happen. He talked about the opportunity to have both sponsors come aboard in a statement shared by On3.com's Jonathan Howard.

"This is an entertaining promotion that allows us to work with two innovative brands in Wonder Bread and Old Spice where we can stand out together amid a very busy fall sports schedule," McKinley said. "Talladega Nights is a cult classic and Wonder Bread and Old Spice were savvy enough to be on board with the movie from the very beginning. For our sport, it's the gift that keeps on giving, and it's given Stewart-Haas Racing a great platform to have some fun and engage with our fans."

Could the two pull off the famous slingshot move for the win on Sunday?  Even if they don't pull off a win, it's a cool thing for the fans to see. It's "shake and bake" time for Preece and Briscoe.
