The Tricon Garage driver posted the fastest lap during Friday's session at 85.064 seconds. This marked his fifth career road course pole win and the 14th of his career. Heim has won the pole for seven races this season.

Layne Riggs qualified second with a lap of 85.268 seconds. The rest of the top 10 included Brent Crews (85.297), Grant Enfinger (85.326), Kaden Honeycutt (85.491), Connor Zilisch (85.720), Gio Ruggiero (85.777), Corey LaJoie (85.816), Ty Majeski (85.891), and Josh Bilicki (85.956).

Three of the remaining eight playoff drivers did not qualify inside the top 10. Tyler Ankrum posted the 11th-fastest lap at 86.204 seconds. Rajah Caruth posted the 18th-fastest lap at 86.810 seconds.

Daniel Hemric did not post a qualifying lap after breaking a right front suspension piece on the frontstretch chicane. Hemric had posted the ninth-fastest lap during practice prior to the incident.

Hemric is not the only driver who experienced some issues during the Friday sessions.

Majeski, the defending champion, had an unexpected problem as he navigated the part oval-part road course. His No. 98 Ford violently shook at slow speeds but performed better as he reached higher speeds.

The No. 45 team of Bayley Currey had to head to the garage after qualifying. The Texas native damaged the rear of his Chevrolet Silverado in an on-track incident. Niece Motorsports began making repairs while trying to avoid pulling out the backup truck for the afternoon race.

The first-ever Craftsman Truck Series race at the Charlotte Roval will take place at 3:30 p.m. ET. FS1 will provide coverage with Jamie Little, Kevin Harvick, and Joey Logano calling the action.

This event marks the first opportunity for the remaining eight playoff drivers to win and lock up a spot in the Championship 4. The one who achieves this will gain an early advantage as they spend nearly a full month preparing for Phoenix.
