From interviewing NASCAR drivers to starting her own sportswear line, Amanda Mertz has had quite the career. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, she competed in tons of beauty pageants, was a Monster Energy girl, and has revolved around the modeling industries for quite some time.
After high school, she completed nursing school, and attended the University of Louisville, where she got her Master of Science degree in nursing. This was just the beginning, though. Her real rise to stardom happened after winning Miss Kentucky USA in 2012.
Eventually, she decided to make the move to Nashville, with the hopes of advancing her career even further. Good thing she did, because Mertz eventually signed up for the auditions for NASCAR's Miss Coors Light. It was a long and grueling process, but Amanda pushed her way to the front of the pack thanks to her motivation and drive. Needless to say, she was ecstatic to take on this massive opportunity.
Even though Mertz didn't have a ton of previous experience working for this racing industry, she made up for it with her amazing work ethic, and Rachel Rupert, the previous Miss Coors Light, took notice. The two became good friends as Rupert took Mertz under her wing and showed her the ropes. After a little time, Mertz was ready to do her job solo in 2015.
Amanda certainly lived up to the expectations that were set for her. In fact, I'd even go as far as saying she surpasses those expectations. She took complete control of all her responsibilities by attending all the NASCAR racing events, hosting important guests, handing out pole awards, and interviewing such drivers as Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth.
Even though Mertz absolutely killed it during her first year as the spokeswoman for Miss Coors Light, things didn't exactly go to plan. In 2016, just a year after accepting the role, she was forced to look for other opportunities after the Miss Coors Light program was canceled completely due to revised budgets. Luckily for her, Amanda had done such a great job and made enough connections that it didn't take too long before she came across more work.
A former host at Rated Red (@realratedred), Mertz is the co-owner of the sportswear company Activ8wear. She currently dates reality TV star Luke Pell, and judging by her social media accounts, things seem to be going great. She definitely still loves to be in front of the camera, and I don't think anyone could complain about that.
