Alex Morgan Rips This NBA Team For Jersey Mishap

Alex Morgan is upset about an iconic NBA franchise for their failure to recognize one of our country's most dominant national teams.

Prior to the Boston Celtics' 117-99 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night, Celtics guard Jrue Holiday was seen entering Boston's TD Garden arena with a US National Team soccer jersey on — which was captured and posted on the Celtics' X account, with the caption, 'Reppin' @USMNT tonight ?'?'.

The account that Boston tagged is for the US Men's National Team; which, considering that Holiday was actually wearing the jersey of his wife Lauren, who played for the US Women's National Team from 2007-2015, was a misstep by Boston's social media department.

It didn't take long for Alex Morgan — the two-time World Cup champion, 2012 Olympic Gold medalist, and current captain of the US Women's National Team — to clap back on Boston, responding to their post on X by saying, 'Let me help you with this— @USWNT'.

Morgan's response was the perfect way to make the Celtics' social media department aware of its error, draw well-deserved attention to the US Women's National Team, and have fun on social media, all in one.

While the Celtics certainly should have fact-checked which specific team Holiday was repping on Tuesday — or at least known that he was married to a US women's soccer legend — their mistake is probably owed to one person who just didn't do their due diligence prior to posting. Hence why Morgan's clear but concise response was the perfect way to right this wrong.

Although this didn't stop people from poking fun at both the Celtics and the Men's National team after Morgan's post.

One X user wrote, 'you can tell it's the men's jersey because there's no stars.' referencing the fact that national soccer teams across the world receive stars on their jerseys when they win a World Cup.

The US Women's National Team jerseys boast four stars, for the four World Cups they've won in 1991, 1999, 2015 and 2019. The men's team jerseys are currently starless.

While the Celtics didn't respond to Morgan's post, it's safe to assume that whoever made the mistake learned their lesson the hard way.
