Ashlyn Harris, a two-time Women's World Cup champion with the United States Women's National Team (USWNT), has provided details about co-parenting with her ex-wife.

Speaking with US Weekly, Harris explained that her former partner, Ali Krieger, is still a big part of her life. Krieger is the mother of Harris' children, so she will not speak ill of her.
This approaching is something that became very important to her when her divorce became the center of attention.
Harris and Krieger share two children — 5-year-old daughter Sloane and 3-year-old son Ocean. The two former teammates and partners have been divorced since January 2025.
"I respect her as a mom, I respect her as a player, I respect what she's done for the game," Harris told the outlet. "I don't ever want to speak poorly about the mother of my children."
Harris and Krieger, who remained married for nearly four years, spent essentially their entire professional playing careers as teammates. This includes both the national and domestic levels.
They played together for the Washington Spirit for three seasons (2013-15) before playing together on the Orlando Pride (2017-21). Harris and Krieger also played together for Gotham FC in 2022.
The now-former partners also played together on the USWNT, and they achieved success in the process. They won two Women's World Cup trophies together (2015, 2019) while contributing in different ways.
Harris played goalkeeper and focused on rejecting shots by the opponents. Krieger roamed the field while lining up as a defender and a midfielder.
Both players left the USWNT and their professional careers behind at approximately the same time. Harris last played in 2022 while Krieger last played in 2023. They remained married for some time, but Harris ultimately filed for divorce in September 2023.
"You try and you try and you try and you keep trying to make it work and you don't want to fail," Harris told Us Weekly about deciding to divorce Krieger. "You don't want to give up. But also, life is really short and really long at the same time.
"I get one shot at this. There's no second act. If I'm feeling this way in my 30s and I'm so unhappy that I don't want to get out of bed, am I really serving her and my children and my friends and myself?"
