Atlanta Dream Center Britney Griner was scheduled to talk at a cannabis industry speaking engagement at the Woman Grow Leadership Summit in Maryland on Monday, however, she backed out last minute over safety concerns.

That is, the 34-year-old star basketball player fled her hotel after finding a piece of duct tape with the phrase, "Gay baby jail," written on it.
Considering Griner is both gay and has notably been imprisoned in Russia (for being in possession of marijuana), she took this as a threatening message.
Although upon investigation, according to police, this note was seemingly never intended for Griner and was not a threat, so it was all just an unfortunate coincidence.
Prince George County Police Department told TMZ they learned that "gay baby jail" is actually a video game reference, which would make sense, as there was also a video game and anime convention taking place at the hotel.
For those who don't know, "gay baby jail" is used to describe situations where a character in a video game is unable to move.
"At this time, detectives have uncovered no link to or threat against the guest who located the tape," PGCPD said in a statement.
Even though it was a false alarm, Women Grow CEO Chanda Macias said she supports Griner's decision to go back home after finding what appeared to her as an ominous note.
