Oregon's Willie Taggart and Virginia Tech's Justin Fuente were reportedly the first two coaches contacted after Jimbo Fisher left for Texas A&M. He would be a great candidate and was even on FanBuzz's top five list for the open job. However, he does not appear to want the job or at least won't talk to the athletic department there yet.

Fuente has led the Hokies to a 10-win season last year and could get 10 wins again with a bowl game win this year. He is a quickly rising coach as he was at Memphis —- that's how he got Frank Beamer's old job once he retired —- and his name will definitely be coming up in more coaching searches down the road if this kind of success continues at a tradition-rich school like Virginia Tech.
