Tim Tebow Trips Over Shoelaces, Fails to Catch Game-Ending Fly Ball

Tim Tebow is a man of many talents. The former Florida Gators quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner was one of the best college football players of all time. No one can put together a powerful, inspiring speech like No. 15. Plus, he makes one heck of an NCAA football analyst for ESPN and SEC Network.

While "The Chosen One" was a quarterback, he was better known for his running ability. Tebow bulldozed opponents and stiff-armed defenders left and right, setting an SEC career record for most rushing yards by a quarterback with 2,947 yards.

Apparently, running in football cleats and baseball spikes is a tad bit different. Maybe it's time to reconsider that XFL opportunity, Tim.

Tim Tebow Trips, Commits Error On Last Out

In Friday's MLB spring training game between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Tebow had some serious trouble tracking down a fly ball on what would've been the final out of the game.

The 32-year-old Mets outfielder tripped on what should've been an easy out, letting the Cardinals hitter reach second base and get into scoring position. The Mets hung on and won the game, 3-2, but Tebow nearly costed them the game. To make matters worse, he finished 0-for-2 with two strikeouts on the day.

Tebow should just be happy he was invited to big league camp. The former NFL quarterback turned in a terrible season in the minor leagues at Triple-A Syracuse last year before suffering a pinkie injury, posting one of the worst batting averages in the league. This came after earning All-Star honors at Double-A Binghamton and homering in his first at-bat at three different lower levels as a minor leaguer.

Tebow isn't giving up his Major League dreams of cracking the team's opening day lineup just yet even after last season, but after Friday's faceplant in a Major League Spring Training game, maybe he should reconsider those dreams.

Tim Tebow Hits 1st Spring Training Home Run

It hasn't been all bad news for Tebow in Mets spring training this year.

Just this week, the one-time Denver Broncos quarterback launched a home run off Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Alex Wilson to the opposite field. The two-RBI blast was significant because it marked Tebow's first-ever home run and extra-base hit in MLB Spring Training as a member of the Mets organization.

Don't expect Mets outfielder Tim Tebow to find himself playing at Citi Field in Queens this year, though. He'll likely begin the year at Double-A or Triple-A, where he'd have to impress before the team ever thought about calling him up to the big league club.

Tebow's baseball career has been a roller coaster of moments, and we're all just along for the ride.
