Colin Kaepernick is easily one of the most controversial figures in NFL history, for better or worse, since his time quarterbacking the San Francisco 49ers and kneeling during the National Anthem. Now six years out of the NFL, Kaepernick has been determined to make a comeback.

Nonetheless, he talked to Sports Illustrated to fill us in on his top five all-time quarterbacks, including some expected and not-so-expected names.
Colin Kaepernick's List Includes Randall Cunningham and Warren Moon
According to Kaepernick, these are the five greatest quarterbacks to ever play:
- Tom Brady
- Randall Cunningham
- Warren Moon
- Patrick Mahomes
- Aaron Rodgers
Looking at that list, Brady is expected as he's the greatest quarterback ever. As for modern quarterbacks, Kaepernick included Rodgers and Mahomes, the best of this current generation, and Rodgers, the previous. Mahomes has been to the playoffs each season he's started, and Rodgers has always been viewed as one of the most purely talented quarterbacks.
Moon and Cunningham were nice nods, though they might be the outliers if you ask some fans. Moon started in the CFL in 1978 and finished in the NFL in 2000 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played for 23 seasons and went 291-233 over his career. Cunningham was one of the original dual-threat quarterbacks, especially over the first nine or so seasons of his career. In 1990, he rushed for 942 yards and five touchdowns on 118 carries.
Still, it's a bit odd to not see names like Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Dan Marino and John Elway.
Overall, though, this is an excellent list from the former 49ers Super Bowl starting quarterback. What do you think?
