According to Puck News, multiple sources say that Jay-Z has decided on the performer for the Halftime Show. These sources say that Jay-Z has chosen himself in what would be a natural move.

After all, he has been the tastemaker for the league's biggest event since Roc Nation landed the deal in 2019, so it appeared inevitable that he would become the headliner at some point.

Jay-Z reportedly beat out both Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, the other potential favorites to land the gig.

The timing also fits as Jay-Z celebrates some major anniversaries in his career. He has put on massive shows at stadiums to highlight the 30th anniversary of his debut, Reasonable Doubt, as well as the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.

The Blueprint, in particular, went platinum three times in the United States, gold in the United Kingdom, and platinum in Canada.

Back in July, the 56-year-old rapper sold out Yankees Stadium multiple times while performing different sets for the tens of thousands of fans who showed up. He grossed more than $42 million throughout the three-show run.

He then headed overseas as part of his tour and performed two concerts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. He reunited the Fugees while surprising attendees. He also performed a sold-out show for fans in Paris, France.

Jay-Z's celebration shows will continue this week with the first of two concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. He could announce the Super Bowl 61 Halftime Show news as part of the festivities, or this announcement could take place at a later date.

For now, the NFL fans will continue to await the official announcement from the league. They just might happen to cue up Girls, Girls, Girls and Renegade on Spotify to pass the time.
