Since the Texas A&M Aggies women's basketball team's last loss came against Lamar University back on November 29, but they have gone on a six-game winning streak since then. However, the most important victory in this impressive stretch came against the Oregon State Beavers at the Maui Jim Maui Classic.
Oregon State was ranked No. 8 when they faced the Aggies, but Texas A&M didn't seem to mind as they won 76-70. They came out really aggressive and overwhelmed the Beavers from the opening tip. The Aggies were up by 16 points in the first half because the Beavers appeared to take them for granted.
Not only was it an impressive victory against a ranked team, it was HOW the Aggies won the game. Texas A&M out rebounded Oregon State 31 to 26, and forward N'dea Jones grabbed 20 rebounds all on her own. It was a dominating performance on a big stage.
They also got great production from guards Chennedy Carter and Kayla Wells. Carter finished with 27 points and Wells poured in another 20. Their only struggles were on the defensive side of the ball, but they managed to hold on for the huge win.

It was great to see other players on the team step up. Although Chennedy did her thing offensively, she faded a little bit on defense and her scoring was down in the second half. It's hard for her to score as much as she is expected to each game, while still lock down the other team's top scorer.
The concern earlier this season when the Aggies lost to Lamar were instantly removed when they beat Oregon State. This victory restored confidence for head coach Gary Blair that the squad could complete with the best teams in the country. This was the real test to see where the team is at this point in the season.
A four-game home stand back at Reed Arena in College station started with a 71-51 dismantling of then-No. 25 USC. The Aggie women will host the University of Texas-Rio Grand Valley on December 29, and will start the 2019 calendar year hosting their SEC opener against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
