During her college basketball career with the Oklahoma Sooners and UCLA Bruins, Nicole Kornet got buckets. She doesn't get them like she used to these days, but that doesn't mean she has lost her shooting touch.
During halftime of her former team's game against Fresno State on Friday night, the 6-foot-1 guard proved just that during a fun shooting contest. Kornet made it look so easy, too, cashing in a layup, free throw, 3-pointer, and half-court shot on the first try each to win a car.
It's as cool as it sounds, especially considering it was her birthday, and a celebration was in order inside Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

What a cool moment for Kornet, a Dallas, Texas native whose older brother, Luke Kornet, plays for the New York Knicks. Going 4-for-4 with a shot from half court to win a car on your birthday is like a dream come true.
There's just one problem: Kornet can't accept the car.
Since her last season with the Bruins was in 2016-17, when she averaged 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds in 34 games, Kornet said in a now-deleted tweet that the contract for the promotional contest said each participant needed to be four years removed from their basketball career in order to win the prize.
So although her status as an amateur athlete in the NCAA is over, she can't win a contest at her alma mater because the former women's basketball player hasn't been out of school long enough. It sounds a little ridiculous, but rules are rules.

Kornet has been a good sport about it, especially on social media, but while she didn't win a free car, everyone now knows and can remember the time she sunk four-straight shots after her college playing days were over.
