When someone talks Oklahoma Sooners football and throws out the name Murray, most everyone immediately thinks of Kyler Murray, the elite quarterback, millionaire, and future Major League Baseball star. What many found out on Saturday is that sophomore linebacker Kenneth Murray is pretty special as well.

In No. 5 Oklahoma's 28-21 overtime win over the Army Black Knights, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker recorded 28 tackles, which is the most by a Football Bowl Subdivision since at least 2000 when the NCAA Record Book started.
What's crazier is his Sooners teammate, Curtis Bolton, had 23 tackles in the same game.
Murray might have had one of those crazy stat lines, but he wasn't alone this week in college football.
Here are the FanBuzz College Football Players of the Week for this past weekend of action.
Offense: Blake LaRussa (Old Dominion)
Statistics: 30-for-49, 495 yards, 5 total touchdowns (1 rushing touchdown)
Much like every week, this was the hardest to choose. Stanford quarterback K.J. Costello was clutch in a crazy comeback victory at Oregon, and Benny Snell Jr. made another strong Heisman Trophy statement with 165 yards and four touchdowns to help down nationally ranked Mississippi State and keep Kentucky undefeated. Yet, when you have a backup quarterback throw for nearly 500 yards with no big mistakes against a Top 15 team, it deserves the nod. LaRussa, a junior, threw for more yards in this game than he had all of 2017. He was electric and a massive reason why Old Dominion took down Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Defense: Kenneth Murray (Oklahoma)
Statistics: 28 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss
Anytime someone breaks a FBS record for anything, it is a no brainer to win a weekly award. Recording 28 tackles in a single game is ridiculous and the Sooners needed them all to escape against Army and its option offense.
Special Teams: Noah Igbinoghene (Auburn)
Statistics: 1 kickoff return, 96 yards, 1 touchdown
In a 34-3 blowout over Arkansas, Auburn didn't absolutely have to have Noah Igbinoghene run a kickoff back 96 yards for a touchdown to win the game, but it was still significant. Why? It just so happened to be the Tigers' first kickoff return touchdown in nearly five years. That's pretty hard to believe and Igbinoghene could be a big spark plug for Auburn during SEC play this season.
Freshman: Rondale Moore (Purdue)
Statistics: 8 catches, 110 yards, 2 touchdowns
Rondale Moore put college football on notice with a record-breaking performance in his very first career game. And although Purdue's season hasn't gone as planned so far, the freshman still puts up big numbers and did so once again in the Boilermakers' 30-13 victory over then-nationally ranked Boston College. That catch and run for the 70-yard touchdown in the second quarter just proves how dynamic Moore can be. Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Texas safety Caden Sterns deserve some love here, too.
