Army's QB Ran Like a Tank on This Truck Stick vs Syracuse

QB Bryson Daily reminds Syracuse's Aman Greenwood that Army uses tanks to grind their way to success with huge hit.

The Army football team is known for being tough and physical, but their quarterback took that to a whole new level against Syracuse.

In an era of fast-paced air attacks on offense in college football, the United States military service academies play the game just a bit differently. They still leverage a ground-heavy approach, rife with triple options, and perhaps most importantly, their game is characterized by an edge of intensity and physicality.

Army's Bryson Daily provided us with a reminder that quarterbacks can get in on the hard-hitting fun too with an absolutely devastating truck in the Black Knights' game against Syracuse on Saturday. On 3rd and 6, Daily broke out on a run towards the first down line, and while he was eventually taken down and ruled short of the line to gain, he took Syracuse DB Aman Greenwood down with him, remorselessly leveling the redshirt junior defender.

The Black Knights came into this game with a 2-1 record amidst some impressive offensive performances, not in the least from Daily. Coming into Saturday's game, he'd already carried the ball 56 times, but he's thrown a bit more than Army QBs of years past; he's put up 447 air yards with 4 scores thus far.

He's been part of a strong overall performance against Syracuse so far, as 14-point underdog Army headed into the locker room with a 10-3 halftime lead. The Black Knights held Syracuse to 77 total yards of offense, and picked off QB Garrett Shrader to end the half.

If Army is able to keep up the pressure and keep the margin where it is, this would be a devastating home loss for a 3-0 Syracuse team that had begun to build a bit of momentum heading into the ACC schedule. The Orange picked up an encouraging out of conference road win against Purdue last week, and they'll kick off a brutal stretch by hosting Clemson next week before visiting North Carolina and Florida State
