Details of Kevin Sumlin's new contract have reportedly emerged

That's a pretty good price for the school.

Kevin Sumlin became the new head coach at Arizona last week and while he was at his introductory press conference on Tuesday, some reported figures came out on his contract with the school.

That's not quite the hefty deal that his successor got in Jimbo Fisher's 10-year, $75 million deal. However, Sumlin is being paid $10 million by Texas A&M as part of his buyout so that's likely while the Wildcats didn't have to go too high in the salary ranks to nab him.

According to Arizona Desert Swarm, Sumlin is expected to make $2 million in each of his first two years and then earn $3.5 million the next three years. The deal still has to be approved by the Board of Regents at the school though and it is reportedly going to feature a "mitigation requirement" if the contract is terminated without cause.

Sumlin was the head coach at Houston and Texas A&M previously. He has an overall head coaching record of 86-43, including never finishing with less than seven wins while in College Station. He also had assistant coaching stops at Washington State, Wyoming, Minnesota, Purdue and Oklahoma.
