Alabama senior defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand was arrested on Saturday morning and now more details have emerged from the incident. Hand was arrested for a DUI, but he wasn't actively driving his vehicle when he was arrested. He was found asleep at the wheel of the vehicle with the keys in the car according to The Tuscaloosa News' Aaron Suttles.

In Suttles' report he says that Hand was found to be in "constructive possession" of the vehicle, and even though the car wasn't moving and was parked, the arrest still happened because the keys were in the car. The arrest is the first time Hand has ran afoul of any Alabama program rules. He serves on the Student-Athlete advisory committee and was twice named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll so this is certainly out of the ordinary for him.
Coach Nick Saban released a statement on the matter expressing his disappointment with the senior.
"This type of behavior is not acceptable and we are disappointed in Da'Shawn's actions. We are still gathering information and will evaluate what we need to do in terms of appropriate discipline as we move forward, so better choices and decisions can be made in the future."
No suspension has been handed down yet, but you have to think that Saban will eventually see the light and make a decision on that soon. The Crimson Tide play Florida State to start the season in Atlanta so we might see one of those suspicious one-game suspensions that happen after a big game as Alabama hosts Fresno State the week.
