Nation's No. 1 OG Jamaree Salyer reportedly making surprising decision on commitment date

What does this mean for the favorite in his recruitment?

Five-star offensive guard Jamaree Salyer was initially slated to make his commitment in the early signing period, but it looks like those plans have changed. DawgNation is reporting that Salyer will now be making his decision during the normal signing period on National Signing Day in February.

Georgia is believed to be the outright favorite right now, but with his decision to move back his commitment date he might be having second thoughts. The 6-foot-4, 342-pound behemoth is ranked as the top offensive guard and No. 10 overall recruit in the class of 2018 according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Salyer was set to make is commitment and sign his National Letter of Intent with other high-profile recruits at the Sports  and Social restaurant in Atlanta near SunTrust park. He had previously named Clemson and Georgia as his two leading schools so the Tigers might be making a push for the Georgia native.

The big guard is expected to take an official visit to Georgia this weekend though and he officially visited the Florida Gators last weekend. He's also been on Clemson's campus a couple times as he took an unofficial visit there in June and attended their camp at the same time. Should he decide to use more of his three remaining official visits you have to think Clemson might get one before February.
