UTEP might be having the weirdest season in recent memory. They fired their offensive coordinator three games into the season and their head coach resigned two weeks after that. Now they're bringing back the coach who retired back in 2012 as the interim head coach rather than promoting a coordinator.

Price was the coach from 2004 to 2012 and had a 48-61 record as head coach. He led the team to three bowl games, all losses.
"I've asked Mike if he could help us in this situation," UTEP athletic director Bob Stull said Monday. "He has thankfully agreed. We've lost two coaches, and while we have two fine coordinators who are capable of doing the job, I just felt like it was important to bring in somebody with head coaching experience that is familiar with El Paso and our program."
Kugler finished his tenure with a 18-36 record and got the job over guys like Bill Polian and Dan Hawkins. The Miners are currently 0-5 and one of the worst offensive teams in the country. UTEP is currently ranked 124th in the country in scoring offense averaging only 14.4 points a game and is dead last in the country in total offense at about 220 yards a game. The Miners are also 0-5 on the season.
