LSU softball has featured just about everything in 2021. Star outfielder Aliyah Andrews has earned the nickname "Air Aliyah" for her blazing speed and incredible diving catches. Senior infielder Amanda Doyle has supplied the power, and she can't stop hitting home runs in Baton Rouge.
Then there's Raeleen Gutierrez, who in a game against Southeastern Louisiana showed off her blend of power and speed by pulling off the rarest of home runs: the inside-the-park grand slam.

The Tigers were already up big by a score of 8-1 in the top of the seventh inning when freshman utility player Raeleen Gutierrez stepped to the plate with the bases loaded.
The left-hander ripped a line drive into the left-center gap past the outstretched arm of the diving SLU centerfielder.
From there, she was off for the races.
The left fielder was a little late in getting to the ball while the center fielder had the wind knocked out of her. Gutierrez even finished off the rare grand slam without ever sliding. The emphatic home run was a fitting end to LSU's 12-1 win at North Oak Park in Hammond, Louisiana.
Gutierrez isn't an everyday starter. She's started just five games and appeared in 18 total this year. But she's made the most of her opportunities, hitting .313 with a double, home run and six RBIs.
The Upland, California native's season was cut short last year due to the coronavirus. She came to LSU from St. Lucy's Priory High School, where she was a three-time second team all-league player and hit .415 as a freshman.
?LSU is rolling (what's new?) this year. The Tigers are 16-7 and ranked the No. 12 team in the country. They're coming off series wins over Tennessee and Texas and look primed to steamroll their SEC opponents.
From Andrews' incredible diving catches to Gutierrez's impressive inside-the-park grand slam, LSU is full of talent and should go far in 2021.
