The first explosive play of Super Bowl LVII has happened and it was a 45-yard BOMB from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead at the beginning of the second quarter. What's more intriguing than that was how much Hurts' pass looked like Tua Tagovailoa's walk-off touchdown to DeVonta Smith against Ohio State. Two incredible passes with an Alabama connection? A.J. Brown Goes Deep in Super Bowl LVII
Both Philadelphia and Kansas City drove down the field on their opening drives with touchdowns by Jalen Hurts and Travis Kelce, respectively. After a Philadelphia 3-and-out, and with the game tied at 7, the Chiefs drove down the field only to have their drive end with a Harrison Butker 42 yard DOINK off the left upright.
The Eagles took over at their own 32-yard line. After a couple Jalen Hurts runs and a pass to Dallas Goedert, A.J. Brown made his first catch of the game for seven yards and a first down to end the 1st quarter, giving everyone with a 7x7 square a happy person.
With the first play of the second quarter, Hurts dropped back into play action, stepped up into the pocket, and unloaded a monster pass downfield. A.J. Brown was double covered, but made an adjustment to shake free and caught the ball in the end zone for Philadelphia's second score of the game. It was a ballsy play dialed up by Nick Sirianni to give the Eagles the lead. But as the Eagles have proved all season, when you have A.J. Brown, the go-route is always an option.
WHAT AN ADJUSTMENT. HURTS TO BROWN 45-YARD TOUCHDOWN!
