Dak Prescott's Mega Deal Will Boost His Net Worth Tremendously

Dak Prescott is expected to be back in the saddle in 2021 as quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. After a gruesome leg injury spelled an early end to his 2020 campaign, the former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year is eager to get back on the field.

He'll be playing with some added protection this season in the form of his brand new contract. Prescott's freshly-inked deal with "America's Team" makes him one of the highest-paid players in football (and all of sports), and now fans will see if he can perform like it.

But just how much is the face of the Cowboys worth?

After fighting to prove his worth throughout his rookie contract, Prescott was finally rewarded during the offseason with a brand new lucrative four-year deal.

Prescott is due to earn a whopping $160 million throughout the life of his contract, good for $40 million per year. The agreement included a $66 million signing bonus and featured $126 million in guaranteed money. During the 2021 season, he'll be playing under a rather team-friendly base salary of just $9 million.

That incredible signing bonus helped make him the world's fourth-highest paid athlete in 2021 behind Conor McGregor, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Prescott totaled $107.5 million in 2021, according to Forbes.

Football Career

Rayne Dakota "Dak" Prescott grew up in Sulphur, Louisiana, and was raised by his mother, Peggy Prescott. He was a talented athlete growing up and played football at Haughton High School before taking his talents to Mississippi State University.

After starring as a college football quarterback for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, the two-time Conerly Trophy winner was drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He took over for Tony Romo as the starting Cowboys QB during his rookie year and helped lead the team to a 13-win season. Dallas ultimately lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Since taking over as the starting quarterback, Prescott has thrown 106 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. He has racked up more than 17,500 passing yards and made two Pro Bowls.

Dak Prescott Net Worth

While Prescott wasn't making huge money until 2021, he managed to lock down some key endorsement deals, including sponsorships from the likes of Pepsi, Campbell's Chunky Soup, AT&T, New Era and more, according to Forbes.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Dak Prescott's net worth is estimated at $40 million. Based on the size of his recent contract, that figure is set to rise quickly as he progresses through his career in the National Football League.

After playing the 2020 season under the franchise tag, Prescott's career earnings as a professional football player reportedly sit at $36 million, which he will more than triple over the next few years.

Prescott will barely be over 30 years old when his current contract expires, meaning he will likely get paid the jackpot once again. A $40 million net worth now could be monumentally larger in just a few years.

I guess everything—even the contracts—really is bigger in Texas.
