College and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders teased the idea of taking on an assistant coaching role at his alma matter Florida State last month.

While standing on the Seminoles' sideline during the Independence Bowl, Sanders said "you never know" when asked about a potential job in Tallahassee.
Apparently, he knows.
Sanders has reportedly decided not to join Florida State's coaching staff next season, college football insider Brett McMurphy reported early Wednesday morning.

Sanders, who retired from the NFL in 2006, has never held a coaching position at the collegiate level. He previously ran a now defunct charter school in 2012 and served as the head coach, while also working as the offensive coordinator at a private school in Texas last year.
The Hall of Fame cornerback also served as a coach during Under Armour All-American Game last month, receiving criticism from quarterback and Florida commitment Emory Jones for how he managed playing time.
Sanders currently works as an analyst for the NFL Network and has held the position full-time since his retirement.
