On a cold, snowy winter night in Michigan, NFL defensive tackle Malik McDowell was pulled over for a routine traffic stop in a gas station parking lot. There was nothing crazy about the situation at first, but things eventually got pretty ugly. Now there's video to prove it what exactly went down.
McDowell, a former second round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, was initially pulled over for speeding and his Jeep spinning out on the road, according to a video obtained by TMZ Sports. The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder wasn't having it, though, especially considering the February conditions, and asked to speak to the police officer's supervisor.
When that didn't happen, well, chaos ensued.

After not staying in his vehicle like the officer asked, McDowell proceeded to enter the convenient store in Lathrup Village. That's when the cop tries to detain the former Michigan State star, telling him to put his hands behind is back.
The officer, who was noticeably smaller, tried to take McDowell to the ground, but it didn't work until the two men got into a scuffle that knocked food all over the place. The officer then grabbed his taser and ordered him to the ground.
McDowell, still not following orders and asking to speak to a supervisor, was ultimately tased. However, he pulled out the prongs and began to wrestle with the arresting officer before backup arrived.
According to TMZ Sports, the backup officer wrote in the police report that McDowell "grabbed for my gun as I was trying to grab his arm." The report also indicates the NFL free agent "had strong odor of intoxicants emanating from his persons."
Eventually, McDowell was detained and charged with two counts of felony assaulting and resisting, one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license, per TMZ.
A former five-star recruit from Detroit, Michigan, McDowell obviously has a lot of football talent. He wouldn't have been a second-round draft pick if not. However, he cannot seem to piece it all together.
Not only was the defensive lineman waived by head coach Pete Carroll last summer after an ATV accident gave him a concussion and facial injuries, he's also been accused of "concealing a stolen truck" this past spring.
A simple traffic stop did not have to result in an altercation or defensive lineman Malik McDowell arrested, but it did, and the video makes it look even worse than it sounds.
