Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has already said he has no plans to leave the team after next season. The franchise, along with opportunities to always rock cowboy hats, has become home. However, the final year of his rookie contract is about to take place and now it's time for the organization to pay the 25-year-old his money.
The trending rate for a superstar at the quarterback position these days is insane, and the 6-foot-2 signal caller is on the cusp of that level after earning AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2016 with two Pro Bowl selections. Prescott has also led the Cowboys to two playoffs in three years since he was a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
So, yes, every Cowboys fan is expecting owner Jerry Jones to offer a massive deal, but to former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin, it's pay Dak Prescott... or else.

In a video captured by TMZ Sports, the now-53-year-old Pro Football Hall of Famer had some advice to everyone in the organization.
Needless to say, Prescott has proven enough that he can take the Dallas Cowboys to the next level, whether head coach Jason Garrett is there or not.
"In this business, it's about winning football games. Dak Prescott has played in every football game and he's won football games. In his first three years, as a fourth-round draft pick, he's taken the Cowboys to two playoffs, and he would have made a third had Ezekiel Elliott not taking a... let's call it a 'vacation for six games.'
"In this business, it has to be about results, man. And the man has delivered results. Period. Bottom line. Give the man his money. That's all I'm talking about, because, if you don't pay him, let's all go home.
"If he's No. 1, and you don't take care of him, from two to 53, it's going to say, 'why the hell should I give all my effort if you didn't take care of the top guy.' That's just me."

There's no doubt the Cowboys are headed in the right direction, the best it has been since Tony Romo was under center. Prescott is the right guy, the playmaker, to get the job done, especially with targets like wide receiver Amari Cooper.
So with his rookie deal soon to be up, a contract extension needs to happen. It's a no brainer. And if Irvin has any say, if it's not a Texas-sized deal, there could be some issues with the team next offseason and beyond.
