Michael Strahan Split From His Second Wife & Owed Her $15 Million

Michael Strahan loves the spotlight. The former All-Pro New York Giants defensive end seamlessly transitioned into his role as co-host of the popular television program Good Morning America.

The Westbury High School grad and Houston, Texas native is one of the best to ever step foot on a football field, and is a two-time Emmy winner for his work as a media personality.

Whether it be on the field or in the studio, Strahan has found great success in his life. But one area that's been a bit less straight forward for No. 92 has been his romantic life.

Having been divorced twice, Strahan's love life has frequently made headlines.

The first of Michael Strahan's ex wives is interior designer Wanda Hutchins. The pair got married in Germany in 1992 and have two children together: daughter Tanita and son Michael Anthony Strahan Jr.

The couple ended up divorcing in 1996, though have remained on good terms while co-parenting their children.

After splitting with Hutchins, Strahan got married again in 1999, this time to now ex-wife Jean Muggli. The two initially met in Manhattan where Muggli worked, and the New York City romance blossomed from there.

Together, Muggli and Strahan have a pair of twin daughters, Isabella and Sophia, whom were born in 2004. Just two years after the birth of the twins, Strahan and Muggli were involved in a messy divorce, with wild accusations being cast upon the professional football player.

Muggli accused Strahan of being gay and physically assaulting her when explaining her decision to divorce from the Super Bowl champ. Things didn't stop there, however. Hutchins, Strahan's first wife, came to the defense of her ex-husband by claiming that Muggli was "evil" and had even expressed to Wanda's children that she (Jean) wished they would die.

Strahan was forced to fork over $15.3 million in addition to hundreds of thousands in child support payments to Muggli. He and Muggli also split the profits from the $3.6 million sale of their New Jersey mansion in 2007.

In February of 2020, Strahan alleged in a North Carolina court that Muggli, who went by Jean Strahan when they were together, had displayed a pattern of abusive conduct toward the couple's twin daughters, and that he should be given primary custody of daughters Sophia and Isabella, per reports from TMZ.

He also alleged that his second wife had failed to bring the children to court-ordered therapy sessions, as well as their volleyball and equestrian practices. The claims were eventually dismissed and the pair settled out of court, agreeing on a shared custody arrangement. Muggli was also arguing that Strahan's payments should increase in value to account for cost of living, per Page Six.

Since the divorce, Muggli has mostly avoided the public eye. Although, she made news again when she was arrested in New York City for violating an order of protection by showing up to the house of Marianne Ayer, her former girlfriend, unannounced. She remains active on social media, though her accounts are private.

While the Hall of Fame defenseman has not been married since his messy split with Muggli, he was in a long-term engagement with Nicole Mitchell, who happens to be comedian Eddie Murphy's ex wife.

Mitchell and Strahan dated for five years but eventually called off their engagement after Strahan allegedly cheated on her.

As of now, the former NFL star is believed to be dating Kayla Quick, a female whom is 20 years his junior.

In addition to the age gap, the relationship has been called controversial by some due to Quick's past. Quick is reportedly a convicted criminal, having been arrested on counts of disorderly conduct and grand theft.

Michael Strahan's Post-NFL Career

Michael Strahan's time on the gridiron will forever be remembered by Giants fans, but he's also been a hit in front of the camera. Strahan's post-NFL career landed him a role on Fox NFL Sunday as a football analyst.

Additionally, Strahan co-hosted the talk show Live! With Kelly and Michael alongside Kelly Ripa from 2012-16. In 2016, he transitioned to become co-host of Good Morning America on ABC after having appeared on GMA in a guest role over the previous two years.
