A major pop star has slightly shut down the notion that she would accept an opportunity to play the halftime of the Super Bowl, but she has simultaneously left the door open.

Miley Cyrus isn't jumping at the opportunity to cap off the NFL season if it arises, but she certainly isn't saying no. She would just have to approach the situation with the right mindset.
"I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure," Cyrus told Variety during a recent interview about Hannah Montana's 20th anniversary.
"I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can't help but go, 'It's millions of people, and it's the most-watched thing in the world.'
"But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was — taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is — I think I could find it in myself."
One of the biggest questions of each NFL offseason focuses on biggest event of the season. Who will play at halftime of the next Super Bowl? What genre will this artist — or artists — represent?
The performers have run the gamut over the decades. The NFL used early championship games to showcase marching bands, but the league switched to recording artists in the 1990s. The NFL has brought in some of the biggest names in rock, pop, hip hop, and even a little bit of funk.
Some of the performers over the years have included Janet Jackson with Justin Timberlake, Prince, New Kids on the Block, Kendrick Lamar, Usher, Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, U2, Katy Perry and Maroon 5 among many others.
As expected, these artists spark some major conversations among football fans. A fitting example is Super Bowl 60, which featured Bad Bunny as the headline act. Some people loved having the global performer sing his songs while others took issue with him performing in another language.
Cyrus would lean more into the pop world than some of the more recent acts, but she would certainly draw in a crowd. Now, the only question remaining is whether she will get an offer in the coming years.
