MUST SEE: Darius Slayton makes ridiculous 1-handed catch

The New York Giants have a proud tradition of wide receivers making ridiculous catches. Darius Slayton is now a member of this group after delivering against the Chicago Bears.

The veteran receiver faced off with cornerback Tyrique Stevenson while trying to corral a pass from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. The pass was far off to the left of Slayton, but he reached out with his left hand and snagged the football.

This was not a simple one-handed catch, however, as Slayton had to bring it down and cradle it by his midsection while protecting it from Stevenson. He completed the process of the catch before safety Kevin Byard pushed him out of bounds at the Chicago 49-yard line.

Dart and Slayton did not end there. They connected on the following play for 38-yards, which put the offense deep into the red zone. The Giants capitalized three plays later as Dart rushed for a three-yard touchdown.

The Giants needed other players to step up on offense after second-year receiver Malik Nabers tore his ACL. Slayton, a former fifth-round pick, did just that against the Bears. He led the team in the first three quarters by catching three passes for 85 yards and setting up pivotal scores.

Of course, this veteran receiver is far from the only one to don the blue jersey and make a wild catch. Odell Beckham Jr. delivered one of the most memorable plays in NFL history when he fought through pass interference and caught a touchdown pass from Eli Manning with only one hand.

David Tyree delivered one of the biggest catches in NFL history back on Feb. 3, 2008. Manning escaped three Patriots defenders and heaved the ball downfield. Tyree jumped up, caught the ball, and held it against his helmet even after Rodney Harrison knocked one of his hands away.

This play kept the game-winning drive alive and helped the Giants score a Super Bowl 42 upset win over the previously undefeated Patriots.

Mario Manningham then delivered his own wild catch during a Super Bowl rematch with the Patriots. Facing a two-point deficit with 3:44 remaining in the game, Manning dropped back from his own two-yard line and launched the ball down the left sideline.

The veteran quarterback dropped the ball perfectly between two Patriots defenders. Manningham made the catch, got both feet down, and held on to the ball after contact from two defenders. This set the Giants up on the 48-yard line and led to the go-ahead touchdown by Ahmad Bradshaw.
