The NFL has suspended rookie Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, putting his career prospects in doubt.

The league announced the suspension on Thursday but did not provide a reason. However, the New Orleans Saints said that the rookie receiver had violated the NFL-NFLPA performance-enhancing substances policy.
Rechsteiner will still take part in team activities while suspended. He can practice with the Saints and play in the preseason games. This provides him an opportunity to continue pushing for a spot on the roster.
Once the regular season begins, Rechsteiner will officially be suspended. He will miss the first six games of the 2026-27 NFL season.
Rechsteiner's competition in camp includes several players, some of whom already have guaranteed spots. For example, Chris Olave just signed a four-year extension worth up to $132 million. He's not going anywhere.
The other receivers on the roster include Jalen Moreno-Cropper, Kevin Austin Jr., Ronnie Bell, Bryce Lance, Bub Means, Trey Palmer, Jordyn Tyson, Devaughn Vele, and Barion Brown. Tyson also has a guaranteed spot after landing with the Saints as the eighth overall pick in this season's NFL Draft.
An undrafted rookie free agent, Rechsteiner landed with the Saints after rookie minicamp in May. This followed a three-year college career at Jacksonville State in which he played in 37 games and caught 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. He caught five of these touchdown passes during 2025, his senior season.
The surname Rechsteiner should be familiar to many people considering that Scott Rechsteiner enjoyed a long wrestling career that began in the 1980s. He headlined numerous pay-per-view events, and he won several tag team titles as one half of the Steiner Brothers.
The tag team titles include the WWF Tag Team Championship, WCW World Tag Team Championship, IWGP Tag Team Championship, and the TNA/Impact World Tag Team Championship.
Steiner also won several individual titles, including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and the Stars and Stripes Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Championship.
