That is to say, on the way to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Hill was stopped by police for a minor traffic violation of speeding and reckless driving. Apparently things escalated, as video footage from bystanders showed the 30-year-old NFL player being handcuffed face down on the street pavement.

The President of the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, which oversees 6,000 law enforcement officers, spoke to TMZ Sports, citing that Hill put "himself and others in great risk of danger" while on his way to work Sunday.
Furthermore, he went on to say that the Dolphins wideout did not listen to the policemen's orders.
"Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs," the SFLPBA stated per TMZ. "Mr. Hill, still uncooperative, refused to sit on the ground and was therefore redirected to the ground."

"Once the situation was sorted out within a few minutes... Mr. Hill was issued two traffic citations and was free to leave."
The association added that they stand with the actions of their officers, but are open to further communication moving forward.
Following the game, Hill was asked by reporters to explain his side of the story, in which he dodged the question, saying "Let bygones be bygones."
