EXCLUSIVE: Ken Anderson Talks NWA Powerrr Appearance, Future with Company

In the heat of the pro wrestling boom, with major public exposure from promotions such as WWE, AEW, Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance has used this opportunity to successfully revive the rich history of the brand. Now, under the ownership of Billy Corgan and the production experience of Dave Lagana, studio wrestling is back and in full force with the launch of the weekly NWA Powerrr broadcast.

With Nick Aldis at the helm as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, NWA has used their partnerships with NJPW, ROH, as well as Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, to bring back highlighting wrestlers through emphasizing promos along with in-ring action. This past week's TV taping saw the NWA Powerrr debut of former WWE United States Champion and TNA Heavyweight Champion, Ken Anderson.

During Colt Cabana's promo, Mr. Anderson came out as Cabana's mystery partner, and they competed against Sal Rinauro and Jordan Kingsley. At the conclusion of the match, the team of "CabAnderson" was successful.

In an exclusive interview with FanBuzz, Anderson shared his thoughts about his NWA debut, whether fans will see him again on the show, and more.

FanBuzz: What are your overall thoughts of the NWA experience teaming with Colt Cabana?

Ken Anderson: I think Colt is a great performer. We broke in around the same time, came up around a lot of the same people in the business and both are from the midwest.

FB: Who reached out to you to appear on the show?

KA: I have remained friends with Nick Aldis, Billy Corgan and Dave Lagana throughout the years. It was Nick who originally reached out and told me that he was going to throw my name into the ring not only as a talent, but to assist with production. Lagana gave me my very first big break in the business at WWE and Billy was creative on one of my favorite feuds I've ever participated in at TNA.

FB: Will we be seeing more of Ken Anderson in NWA, or is this just a one-time thing?

KA: Yes, you will be seeing more of me. Currently scheduled to appear on the NWA PPV in December and the following two days of tapings. Dec 14,15 and 16. I had fun tagging with him and think you'll see more of "Cabanderson."

Anderson's The Academy: School of Professional Wrestling presents the Modist Massacre, which will take place on Saturday, October 26 at the Modist Brewing Company in Minneapolis, MN. Tickets are available at modistbrewing.com. The event will be headlined with an NWA World Heavyweight Championship match, pitting Nick Aldis against Brandon Gore. The event will also feature NWA World Tag Team Champions The Wild Cards (Tom Latimer and Royce Isaacs), as well as NWA Women's World Champion Allysin Kay competing against former TNA Knockout's Champion, ODB. Former WWE stars Al Snow and Hornswoggle will be in attendance as well.

The second episode of NWA Powerrr also featured the debut of Aron Stevens (fka Damien Sandow), and the announcement of Tim Storm addressing his NWA future on the next episode. The Wild Cards also continued their tag team championship feud with Eddie Kingston & Homicide (which was interrupted by The Dawsons), Allysin Kay paying respect to Ashley Vox after their match, Ricky Starks defeating former WWE Tag Team Champion Trevor Murdoch, and more.
