Former world champion rumored to be Brock Lesnar’s next opponent

It's about time.

Former Universal Champion Finn Bálor is rumored to be positioned as Brock Lesnar's next challenger for the title he was forced to vacate last year due to injury, according to Cageside Seats.

According to the report, Bálor, who proclaimed that he was finally setting his sights back on the Universal Championship during this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, is expected to challenge Lesnar at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble.

The Irish superstar became the inaugural Universal champion by defeating Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in August 2016, but was forced to vacate the title the following night on Monday Night Raw due to a torn labrum that required surgery.

Bálor missed nearly eight months of action before returning on the Raw after WrestleMania in April. He has since spent the majority of his current run in mid-card feuds, having only challenged for the No. 1 contendership of the Universal Championship in a Fatal 5-way match at Extreme Rules.
