Dale Jr. Fired Up for New NASCAR Netflix Series

Dale Earnhardt Jr. got an early look at the new Netflix NASCAR series that is getting ready to premiere, and he has some thoughts.

The new series, called "NASCAR: Full Speed," could be on par with the platform's Formula One docu-series "Drive to Survive."

The show will give a behind-the-scenes look at what the top drivers in NASCAR go through on a day-to-day basis, both in and out of the car, during a race weekend.

It isn't the first NASCAR documentary to be made; but according to Earnhardt, this new show tops them all.

He spoke about the series and what he likes most about it during a new episode of the "Dale Jr. Download" podcast.

"The Netflix series is coming out the 30th," Earnhardt said. "I've watched it, and it's better than anything that I've ever [seen] ... Any of the stuff that I was a part of in my career that was sort of off track, on track, documentary-style stuff, I'm telling you, man, this is so good."

Earnhardt is fired up about the series, and that speaks volumes about what "NASCAR: Full Speed" will mean for the sport and fans.

Many hope this new series will help NASCAR get a big ratings boost and reach a new fan base, much as "Drive to Survive" did for Formula One.

This is how the new age works, and NASCAR is just going to benefit from the series and streaming itself. Paired with the previously announced six-race schedule that will air on Amazon Prime, this could really push NASCAR in the right direction for the future.

If Dale Jr. likes it, we all should as well.

What it will do for the sport doesn't have an answer yet. But if you aren't a NASCAR fan already, this should be a good way to pique your interest — and it's just in time for February's Daytona 500.
