Reggie Miller Built a Loving Family of 5 After His Messy Divorce

In the modern game full of snipers, Reggie Miller set the precedent. He was the shooter who preferred to take a 3-pointer instead of the closer mid-range jumper.

Team his stroke with a relentless mouth and killer instinct, and you get the guy you love to have on your team but love to hate when he's not. There are few National Basketball Association players who irked Michael Jordan more.

Reginald Wayne Miller was born in Riverside, California, on August 24, 1965. He attained success on the court at Riverside Polytechnic High School living in the shadow of his sister Cheryl Miller — arguably the greatest female hooper of all time.

Miller attended the University of California, Los Angeles out of high school. Following four successful years on the UCLA Bruins basketball team, Miller was the 11th-overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers.

The most famous period of his tenure is documented in ESPN's 30 for 30, Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. the New York Knicks.

After an 18-year professional career in Indianapolis, the shooting guard transitioned to the TNT broadcast booth. The Olympic gold-medal winning American professional basketball player serves as a color commentator alongside Kevin Harlan on a majority of his assignments.

We know Miller inside and out through basketball, but how about his personal life?

Reggie Miller's Ex-Wife Marita Stavrou

Reggie Miller was introduced to Marita Stavrou in 1992 through Los Angeles Lakers superstar Magic Johnson. The two quickly tied the knot, and eight years later, the NBA player filed for divorce.

The ensuing break up was messy. Stavrou accused her ex-husband of giving his friends hefty sums of money to keep his net worth hidden. Miller disputed the claim. Stavrou doubled down. According to Miller's lawyer Jim Buck, the party gave Stavrou a divorce settlement of $5 million before she made the accusation.

The family matters came to fruition after a bizarre arson incident in which the couple's $1 million Indiana home was burned down. There are rumors Stavrou was involved, but it was never proven and remains one of the NBA's more obscure conspiracy theories. Jalen Rose certainly has an opinion.

Eventually, the public battle simmered down and the marriage was severed. Stavrou was a staple at Pacers games while the couple was together. After the five-time NBA All-Star moved on from Stavrou, he dated actresses Rachel Nichols, Natane Boudreau, and Jaimyse Haft.

Laura Laskowski

Reggie Miller settled down and found love with girlfriend Laura Laskowski. The couple is based in Malibu, California and share three children together: son Ryker born in 2013, daughter Lennox born in 2016, and a second daughter born in 2021.

Miller, who is 56 years-old, and Laskowski have a healthy relationship. They cycle, travel, and lovingly post about their children on social media. If the former basketball players's kids are anything like their dad, they will scour every possible avenue to come out on the winning side of an argument.

The NBA commentator is a common voice for TNT throughout the NBA Playoffs and NCAA Tournament.

After a rocky first marriage, the 2012 Basketball Hall of Fame inductee has settled into a happy family life. Don't think he won't flop when he's playing his kids one-on-one, though.
